English Connectors

English Connectors: Types and Examples

Connectors are words and phrases used to link one idea to another in writing. When writing in a second language, it is important to express your ideas clearly. We use connectors to help our readers seamlessly read through and comprehend our statements.

Individual connectors are challenging to define as they are abstract concepts. The easiest way to start using connectors is to try including a few at a time in your vocabulary and noticing when others use them.

If you’d like to convey your ideas so your reader is not struggling to understand, connectors are the way to go!
